Babies Welcome!

Congratulations! Baby is here!

For most women, this will be one of the most vulnerable periods in your entire life.

We are talking about sleep deprivation, hormone fluctuations, tissue healing, the full-time job of feeding and holding a baby... The changes to your body and routine during the post-partum period are incredible.

Your body undergoes a huge pressure during the birthing process, whether that be via a vaginal birth or c-section, both can be very traumatic. Although most women are given great support for the first few weeks after birth, you are quickly expected to jump back into life and regular routine once your partner returns to work.

We are here to support you through motherhood! â€‹

In a post-partum consult we talk a lot about your birth to gather more information about the areas of your body that may have been damaged. Although Chiropractic adjustments are useful to restore optimal function to joints, rehabilitation exercises play a huge role in prevention of long-term damage and restoring your body to it's pre-baby state. We also address how we can best prepare your body for return to work, exercise and maybe even another child!

When to come in?

Once you are settled at home with bub. Most women will be tender around the pelvis for the first few days after birth, this is completely normal. If your pain persists a few days after birth, it may be worth booking in for an earlier consult to begin treatment. While we have some mummas visit on their way home from the hospital, if everything is feeling ok, the 10 day post partum check is ideal for vaginal deliveries. This allows for your bleeding to slow and breastfeeding to establish (if breastfeeding).

For women who have absolutely no symptoms, we recommend a check up at 10 days, 6 weeks and then 12 weeks post-partum.

For most Chiropractic patients, pregnancy to 2 years post-partum is when they will need treatment the most. Once a child is walking by them self and sleep improves - so does mum!!!
